Scholarship
Information
The Rotary Club is now accepting scholarship applications.
The Rotary Club of Meriden has established Citizenship Awards for high school students, who are residents of Meriden, to reward them in their efforts to make Meriden a better community. Rotary encourages young men and women to continue their education beyond high school in any continuing education.
The goal of the Meriden Rotary Club is to improve the quality of life with the community through its efforts. Through the community service projects, the club is able to make substantial and lasting contributions, which make a difference in people’s lives.
Applicants must:
1. Be a resident of Meriden for the last four- (4) years, and a responsible citizen.
2. Be planning to continue their education.
3. Be a member of the 2005 graduating class, and have a minimum 3.0 average.
4. Provide an autobiographical summary, detailing their involvement in the community.
5. Write a brief essay on why they became involved with the community.
6. Provide three names and telephone numbers of people who supervised your community service projects other than relatives.
This award is non-renewable and will be paid directly to the recipients. The amount of the award and the number of recipients will be determined through a process set by the Meriden Rotary Club. The winners will furnish the committee with receipts for educational supplies for which the awards will be used.
Mail this application to Citizenship Award Committee, Rotary Club of Meriden, P.O. Box 773, Meriden, CT. 06450. It must be received no later than May 15, 2005.
