Haitian Health Foundation: The Meriden Rotary Club has continued to support the efforts of District 7980 with the Haitian Health Foundation. In addition to the cash donations that were sent to the effort, club members
contributed additional monies for "Dick's Kids." The Meriden Club also held a collection for Spam, which was then sent through the
Lowneys to Haiti. One of Meriden's Past Presidents, Jim Shiels, will be visiting Haiti again this year.
Dick's Kids: The Meriden Rotary Club collected enough money in happy dollars and fines on the day of the Governor's visit to purchase
three goats for Haiti. In addition, during a joint meeting with Wallingford, enough money was collected to purchase an additional
three goats.
GSE Team being hosted by Club members: 2 members of the incoming GSE Teams will be sharing information with our members about their professions, as well as of American culture as they open their homes to our guests from South Africa.
Joint Project: A member searching the web brought to the club's attention a project that is being done by The Rotary Club of Meriden, England. Locally, we are trying to coordinate a similar project on the same day for the same type of agency (local hospital). The Club President made a donation to the project in England in Pounds.
International Convention: The President-elect is registered to attend the International Convention in Buenos Aires.
Rotary Foundation: There are 48 Paul Harris Fellows from the Meriden Rotary Club. An additional 11 people are sustaining members. Three members of the Club are Sapphire Fellows.
