Meriden Rotary Howard E. Houston Award
he Meriden Rotary awarded the annual Howard E. Houston Award to longtime Meriden resident and volunteer to Frank Ridley. Lynn Faria, who chairs all Community Service and Out-Reach endeavors for the club is seen here presenting the award to Frank at the Rotary's recent Installation Dinner.
The Howard E. Houston Citizenship Award is given to one or more Meriden Citizens for extraordinary service to his/her community. The recipient can not be a Rotarian. The award was developed to honor the memory if Howard E. Houston who was the President if the Meriden Rotary Club in 1943, a three term Mayor of Meriden, on the Commission of Welfare for the State of Connecticut, and the first adminstrator of the Bradley Home.
